This year’s Michelin Gala took place in the city of Valencia on 22 November, and the two restaurants with a Michelin star in Ulldecona and the surrounding districts received the distinction for another year.
Chef Jeroni Castell at the Les Moles Restaurant and his team received the award nine years ago, and this year they have been awarded the Michelin Green Star in recognition of their clear commitment to sustainability and great work in providing gourmet experiences that combine excellence with environmental responsibility.
Chef Vicent Guimerà at L’Antic Molí restaurant and his team were awarded the Green Star last year, and the distinction was confirmed this year. That makes six that are now part of the Michelin star universe.
This is a source of great pride for our town, as we are now the second municipality in Spain with less than seven thousand inhabitants to have two restaurants with a Michelin star. The first is Larrabetzu (Biscay).
We would also like to congratulate the restaurants in Ulldecona and Els Valentins on their excellent work. Their painstaking commitment to traditional cuisine, with excellent local and seasonal products but with an innovative touch, mean that we are all a benchmark in the region – gastronomically speaking, in this case.
