Turisme Ulldecona increases guided tours by 30% in 2022 compared to the previous year

Tourism in Ulldecona follows the upward trend with remarkable recovery data after two very complicated years for the sector, although not yet in pre-pandemic figures. During 2022, a total of 8,683 guides were given to the main tourist resources of our town. 35% have visited the Serra de l’Ermita cave complex, 29% the Medieval Castle, 23% the Natural Museum of the Oliveres Mil-lenàries de l’Arion and 13% have toured the historic centre of the town. It is also worth highlighting the seasonal nature of the demand, with the most popular months being June (1,234) and April (1,060). The months of May, October and November were also important months with over 900 visits.
Regarding the origin of the visitors, 50% of the guided visits have been for people coming from Terres de l’Ebre and Maestrat; 38% from the rest of Catalonia and 7% from France.

The commitment to “slow” and quality tourism, sustainable, not massified, and that fully enjoys at its own pace the rich and varied cultural, natural and gastronomic offer has placed Ulldecona as one of the most attractive destinations in our territory. Moreover, the town is at the forefront of immersive virtual reality technologies and since last March visits to the Medieval Castle have been offered in this area.
With regard to the number of people attended to at the Municipal Tourist Office, there were a total of 5,210, 24% more than last year.
In the 2022 balance sheet, it should also be noted that 5 new tourist accommodation units and a new rural house were registered. All of them had a very high occupancy rate over the last year.
